Free Consultation
If you would like to meet and talk through different options with me, before deciding to hire me, I will be happy to do that.
A pre-booking meeting lasts about one hour. It gives us time to talk through some of your concerns and recieve information from me, before making the choices that are right for you.
Phone & Email Support
Although I officially go On Call for a birth two weeks before the baby is due, I am available any time for an email or a chat.
Prenatal Visit
We will have at least one more meeting before the day of the birth. this will usually be in your home, so it is informal, and in a setting that you find comfortable. it gives me a chance to learn exactly how to get to you quickly when you are in labour.
We will discuss your plan for the birth, and anything special you may wish for.
Professional Information
I will endevour to provide you with as much information as you want and need about pregnancy and birth, especially in areas that are most relevant to you. This way, you will be able to make the choices that feel most right for you.
As a Doula, I Do Not:
Perform any clinical tasks
Listening to the baby's heartbeat, taking your blood pressure, perscribing drugs, doing internal examinations or delivering your baby is all not part of my work. you will need a midwife for these tasks.
During labor
I will attend to you during labour, providing emotional support and physical non-medical care. this includes positive encouragement, loving touch and massage, homeopathy for childbirth, information, and more.
I will stay with you until after your baby has been born.
Make decisions for you
Your decisions are yours to make, after considering medical advice and your own gut feeling.
Baby’s first feeding Support
Whether you want to breastfeed or bottlefeed your baby, I can help you with the first feed.

Postpartum follow-up visit
I will visit you at least once after the birth. During this visit we can talk over anything that you feel you may need to discuss about the birth. I will also provide breastfeeding and baby care information if you need any. Sometimes, and especially when there may be some issues relating to breastfeeding, I may visit you two or even three times after the birth. This is included in the price of the Birth Package.
